Over 35 years, we have built up an excellent reputation for safety and delivering quality activity programmes and now have 11 accreditations and hundreds thousands of customers travelling with us each year.
Our traditional pre-erected camping villages are designed to give our groups their own private space for sleeping, eating and socialising, to encourage a real ‘community spirit’. This is a really easy environment for teachers/leaders to monitor their group and make sure everyone is safe and having a good time.
The job description
a typical day
These roles are ideal for experienced activity instructors with a proven supervisory background. Reporting to the Activity Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of either the Paddlesports or Climbing & Land activities, from training and monitoring the instructional staff team to regular checks of activity equipment.
If you have high standards, are highly motivated and have excellent people skills Acorn is the company for you! We expect our staff to deliver excellent customer service to our guests, whilst delivering fun and safe taster activity sessions. As part of the role, you will also be required to interact daily with the guests and get involved in all aspects of centre life from cleaning and serving at meal times to site work.
Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for people with at least one of the following PLUS a First Aid qualification:
RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor
SPA assessed
UKCC Level 2 / BCU Level 2 Coach (Canoe or Kayak)
21 years+ for Senior positions
All of our staff participate in a comprehensive induction & training programme at centre and there are pre and post-season training opportunities to gain NGB qualifications in different activities. We are looking for people who can commit to working the full season.
All applicants must have a UK/EU passport, UK residential address, a permanent UK National Insurance number and a UK bank account. We will be unable to take your application further before they have been obtained. We are unable to apply for a work visa/permit on behalf of an applicant.
A current Enhanced DBS Check or overseas equivalent is required for successful applicants.
